Ville Matias Lampi (b. 1990) is an artist mainly working with text and programming in a variety of formats. With procedural text generation and the use of found text, he wishes to explore the malleability of language and meaning as well as to expose the ossified formalisms present in the texts that surround us.

Ville loves the internet and is interested in new developments in the fields of social networking, internet communication and new media. He is also often inspired by seashores and other bodies of water, poetry and surprise emails from faraway friends.

Ville is a Master of Arts from the Visual Culture and Contemporary Art programme at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Espoo, Finland. He wrote his thesis, titled "Looking Behind the Text-To-Be-Seen: Analysing Twitter Bots as Electronic Literature," on Twitter bots, procedural text generation and the history of electronic literature. He lives and works in Pori, Finland.
